Blogger Quilt Festival...(and a giveaway)

...it's coming!
And I have no clue which quilt I want to enter. I was already thinking about the Fall Quilt Festival after the Spring Festival finished up. (And can I say I'm still in shock for having been a finalist with my Summer Sampler quilt!)
When I finished designing, making and writing the pattern for Drunk Zebra, I thought for sure that would be my entry, they do have a 2-tones quilt category after all.
But then I made Katy's Hopscotch Quilt, and had so much fun making it a very unique and special quilt, esp with the hand quilted doodles.
Of course nothing quite compares to the gigantor Seeing Squares quilt. By it's sheer size it is asking for attention. (Though to be honest this is my least favorite.)
And who doesn't love the last quilt they made best of all (ok, so I love it for many more reasons that that, it's just so me, even though it wasn't for me). Hexies for Nora...it's just too pretty!

What do you, my wonderful readers, think? If you saw a little thumbnail of these quilts, which would inspire you to open the blog link and nominate it for the festival?
Drunk Zebra
Katy's Hopscotch Quilt
Seeing Squares
Hexies for Nora
So along with your greatly appreciated vote, I'm offering a giveaway.
The Prize:
1 Pink Seam-Fix Seam Ripper
1 Mini Honey Bun of Sandy Gervais' Objects of Desire
1 copy of my Drunk Zebra pattern (pdf, will be emailed to you)
Giveaway is open to everyone, all it requires is you cast your vote by leaving a comment below (then this indecisive lady doesn't have to make the choice.)
Please make sure I have a way of contacting you, if you are a no-reply blogger, then please make sure you leave your email in the comment so I can contact you if you win. Type it out like this: happierthanabird at gmail dot com to avoid attracting spammers.

Voting and giveaway will end Tuesday, Sept 25 at about 10 pm MST. ❥

  1. um... does "all of them" count as an answer???
really though, they would all inspire me.
I don't know what the categories are, but I guess see what fits best.
If it was me, I'd probably list the Drunk Zebra, and partner it with a sale. :)

  2. Drunk Zebra! Without a doubt! I feel so strongly that I clicked over from google reader to leave my first ever comment on your blog. Not only is it striking (and beautifully photographed), it has a level of uniqueness that none of the others match.

Now I just need to get over my fear of machine quilting, so I make one of my pieced tops into my first finish. Then, I will enter too! :)

  3. I vote hexies or zebra. I lean towards zebra as the hexies in vintage modern, while gorgeous, is slightly more "predictable." I think the black and white is very modern and less expected.

  4. I too vote for Drunk Zebra. My second choice is Seeing Squares.

  5. I vote for Katies Hopscotch, although they are all great. I even love the Seeing Squares quilt. Thanks for the chance to win!

  6. I say Drunk Zebras I think its going to be something the judges haven't seen before and the block work is unique and stellar. You would be a shoe in to win. Good luck!!

  7. I love the Hopscotch Quilt but the hexie quilt made me 'ooh' out loud. I must say though that I prefer some of your other pictures of the hexie quilt that you have shown, particularly the one of it lying on the bed. If it has to be 'hung up' likle in the above pictures than I say hopscoth. Not really sure now if this is a helpful comment or not! Good luck.

  10. I love them all. But I'm inclined to agree with Tracey, drunk zebra and have a sale at the same time. I looove the hopscotch but I know the details are hard to capture. The other two are also beautiful. Any would be a great entry. :)

  13. So hard to choose! I love them all but the massive one is my fave...I think. The one with the squares, on my phone so I can't go back and heck the name, lol, I love the browns and blues.

  14. LOVE Hopscotch, but Drunk Zebra is pretty awesome, too. :) I love them all!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Totally Drunken Zebra! Not that they're not all great, but I love the zebra and the boldness of the black and white! It is totally "click-worthy"!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I love them all, especially your giant baby! But I think Drunk Zebras is the most visually intriguing! A thumbnail of that will get the most attention!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Although they are all gorgeous (duh!) I have to say the hopscotch quilt would make me click on it because it is cute and very colorful. I'm attracted to the photo because it catches your eye.

  20. I have to say that Drunk Zebra would be the one that caught my eye first, despite how much I love your large quilt (which is a LOT). The Drunk Zebra feels so new and fresh and it really peaked my curiosity when I saw it in my blog reading list. And the photo of it is just perfect, so cool and modern feeling! =)

  21. I vote for Seeing Squares quilt :) it's soooo beautiful!

  24. I definitely LOVE the third quilt, the biggest one, you didn't write down it's name so I looked for it and it seems to be:
The Largest Quilt She's Ever Made 8/7/12

but I have to say that your works are ALL perfect and very very beautiful!

  25. I would grab "drunk zebra"...its so striking!

  26. I vote for Drunk Zebra

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh boy - I see what it's a tough choice! I'm indecisive by nature as well so I can identify. :) I'd have to choose Seeing Squares. Just how huge and intricate it looks would definitely make me take a second look!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Drunk Zebra gets my vote for its originality.

    ReplyDelete
  29. It is really close for me between Drunk Zebra and Seeing Squares. Both are wonderful, but the variety and color in Seeing Squares might prompt mor "close-up" views, but Drunk Zebra packs the biggest punch. Absolutely wonderful work!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Any of them, but I was especially captured by the Drunk Zebra. STUNNING.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Wow that's a hard decision, I can't decide between Drunk Zebra and Hexies for Nora because I really like Hexies! Either one--you can't go wrong!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hmm, I really like Seeing Squares, but Drunk Zebra looks very impressive :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. I would vote for Seeing Squares or Drunk Zebra, but they are all great. Seeing Squares because it is large but not overpowering (we have I King bed & a Queen in the guest room) and Drunk Zebra because it seems to be an illusion and makes my eyes unfocus.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I love the Drunk Zebra and the hopscotch quilts but can't vote for two. Mmmmmm...Drunk Zebra gets my vote.

    ReplyDelete
  37. These are all wonderful quilts. But if I saw a thumbnail of one I would open the hopscotch one first. Thnaks for sharing and for a chance to win.
