Starry Samhain Night - Finished

Last year my friend Becky of Radical Geekery asked me to make a quilt for her, she had an idea of what she wanted but when I saw Nova Made's Starry Night quilt I knew she'd love it, and she did =) and so Starry Samhain Night was born.
Starry Samhain Night
I've been working on blocks off and on since last fall, and am so happy that this quilt is done. I seriously LOVE it!

The quilt measures 53.5" x 72". I used Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting and am again convinced that it is fantastic batting! Before washing the quilt was a little wobbly from all of those concentric circles, and post wash it is very relaxed and cozy. And of course the crinkle is amazing!

Becky is the one who sparked my interest/fascination/undying love of Doctor Who. When I came across the Doctor Who Along and saw their first block was a TARDIS, I knew it had to be included somehow, of course I was already working on the quilting at that point, so I creatively cut into the back corner and sewed it in. I think it turned out perfect, a little TARDIS flying through space.

Here is a closeup of the TARDIS. I am so happy with how it turned out. You can find the pattern for the block here. I'm sad to see this quilt go, but I know it is going to be well loved. Thank you Becky for letting me make something so ridiculously awesome for you!

    1. No pattern or tutorial because it wasn't original. I will compile a list of the star blocks I used, and maybe a general guide. =)
      And thank you!

  13. Lindsey - this is simply so stunning! I love everything about it, particularly the dense circular quilting. I love it and I've pinned it to my "Quilty Goodness" board on Pinterest (with proper credit, of course!). Feel free to follow me if you'd like: http://pinterest.com/lipglass/quilty-goodness/

  14. I can't believe I am just now finding this! I have been working on a large starry night/tardis quilt since April! Beautiful quilt, colors, quilting! How did you piece together the moon? I didn't want to buy a paper piecing pattern, so I've decided to applique it and a mini tardis (same pattern you used, but scaled up a bit) after the quilting is done.
