There is just something so lovely about simple patchwork quilts. They are quick and easy, and you can use a lot of different fabrics, and in always turns into something wonderful in the end.
Recently I completely two simple baby patchwork quilts. The first, an ultra low-volume version. Did you know it is impossible to get good pictures of low-volume quilts? (Maybe it's time to start saving for a fancy camera.)
This low volume baby girl crib quilt is made with a selection of the finest quilting cottons. Each fabric is mostly white or cream with some quiet accents of color. The quilt backing is a soft white with a little heart flower print.
The quilt measures 41" x 55", and was made with Warm & White 100% cotton batting. The binding is double fold, and machine stitched down to make it extra secure for lots of love and washing.

After the super low volume quilt I decided to do something very colorful and bright! I based my color selection off of one pink fat quarter that had different colored letters printed on it. I added 1 more pink fat quarter and then selected 2 fat quarters of red, blue, yellow, orange, and green from my stash. I love having a usable stash!
I backed the quilt with a cute little circus animal print I picked up during the Utah Shop Hop, it had all of the perfect colors, including an over all background with a soft pink dot. I pieced a row of rectangles down the side to increase the size of the backing and add more color. I finished it off with Sarah Jane's pink hopscotch print for binding.
This quilt finished at 43" and uses Warm & White batting as well.
This quilt is also available for sale and can be found RIGHT HERE in my Etsy shop.
And it's been awhile since I've talked about them, but I've simplified my Service Flags. I used to embellish them with various types of quilting, but after the huge order I did last summer I realized I couldn't keep that up, and they were all different so customers never knew what they'd get. Not a good plan.
Now they will all be uniform in appearance with very simple quilting that does not take away from the design. And I am not donating all proceeds from my Service Flags to the Fisher House Foundation. Single stars are $25, double stars $35. And I offer a 20% discount on wholesale orders of 10 or more banners.
Love the baby quilts! You are amazing!
