So I just re-read the rules for the Blogger's Quilt Festival and learned we can enter two quilts this year! So no more fighting with myself over which quilt to enter. Yay!
#scrappytripalong was made with the impromptu Instagram-a-long back in January. It is one of my most favorite quilts I've ever made. Once it was finished up, I knew the perfect place to get a photo. My hubby works in an industrial park with train tracks running all throughout it, and right by his work there are rusty old train cars just begging to be used for a photo-op. And really what is more perfect for a trip around the world quilt, than hopping on a train?
Quilt Stats:
Dimensions: 72" square
Fabrics: a huge assortment, though the backing has a lot of Sarah Jane fabrics. =)
Batting: 80/20 gloriousness (not sure on brand)
Machine pieced and quilted by me on my Husqvarna Viking 80/20.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you'll consider voting for #scrappytripalong for the Favorite Quilt Photographer category, I'm entry #2.

ReplyDeleteLove this photo. I am always seeing places and thinking wow what a great idea for a quilty photo shoot and then well I end up snapping a quick picture on my iphone because I'm lazy. This looks great, love the thought process. The quilt is pretty too. I love these scrappy trips with a cohesive color scheme.

ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the train car as a back drop. I personally would love to try it myself, but I have heard that it is illegal to do so unless you are a railway employee. I do love your quilt and photos of it.
ReplyDeleteProbably so. These are old out of commission cars that have been sitting by my hubby's work parking lot for the 4 years he's worked there. They are often used as setting for photos =)
