Catching Up

So my computer didn't need to go to the shop, and Apple was REALLY fast at getting a new bottom sent to me (FedEx sent Saturday night, and it arrived before 9am on Monday), so now I'm back in working order and not being held together by masking tape. =)

BUT my custom domain decided to give me some issues today and I had to remove the redirect to even view the blog. Grr. Hopefully that is back up in working order soon. And hopefully you can all view me and access me ok for now.

Anyway...

I've been super busy lately, and have a lot to share with you, but first and most importantly....
I had the privilege of testing out a new pattern for TraceyJay Quilts and it is FABULOUS! The pattern is called Linky Love, and you can see one of her versions, as well as a few colorways here, or you can just go straight to ordering your own copy of the pattern right here.
It's a complex looking quilt that is easy and fun to piece. I used the Simply Color by V & Co Ombre jelly roll (well 1 jelly roll + a couple extra strips) in mine. It finished at 52" square. The fading color threw a fun challenge into piecing the quilt, so I finally got around to putting up a design wall - just a bit piece of batting tacked to the wall. Yay no more putting spreading out quilt tops on the floor and hoping no small child walks over them or runs past creating a breeze.

That is all I'm going to share today (my internet is not being friendly today either. Sigh). But check back tomorrow for some more fun!

  5. It's so pretty, I love rainbow. I'd love to use more white in my quilts - it settles the whole appeal down I reckon.
Haha loved the design wall comment. I too have a little quilt lover. We lay the fabric down and he lays on it because it's a blanket!! Whether it's 3 inches or 30 inches. He has also been known to drag quilts off my sewing table to allow said "lying down"! My Mum has a design wall and lives nearby so depending on the quilt, I'll piece most of it and go use it - digital photos and pack it up in order. She likes to see my quilts and myself so she doesn't mind at all :)
